Booked on the Pacific Dawn for a family cruise. Embarkation went smoothly - we had priority boarding as we had booked a mini suite. The ship is old and this shows in places. The public areas have been refurbished recently. Not sure when our mini suite was refurbished but it could do with some work; mainly in the bathroom. The fixtures are old with heavy rust stains on the wall around the shower head and the odd floor tiles were loose in places.

The good: The best assets on the Pacific Dawn are its staff. Our stateroom stewards provided excellent service and were always friendly. Same goes for our waiters who went out of their way to ensure our party of 16 had excellent service. The on deck activities of table tennis, putting, shuttle board etc. were really well done by Louis. He made them enjoyable and we looked forward to participating in them.

The food:
