We left on our cruise 1/24/2010 and returned on 1/31/2010. This was our 4th Carnival cruise and 10th in our cruising history. This may be our last Carnival cruise for some time to come. Before we left I read all about the Puerto Rican people on how rude they can be. I must say we did not see any of that - they actually were quite pleasant and quiet. We did find many changes in the way Carnival is running their cruise ship. First of all when did they stop filling ice buckets twice a day. They fill it in the morning and that is it. When you got to your room in the evening you had water - no ice. We ran out of cokes and had to call room service to bring us more. Our room steward always replaced them in the past. I had to ask for more soap. When did they stop putting lotion in the room? You had to buy your own lotion. Now it's time for breakfast on the Lido deck. The buffet was a breakfast buffet - nothing out of the usual. The thing that was out of the usual was the dirty tables. We could not find a clean table to sit down at. There was not enough staff during the cruise cleaning tables for breakfast, lunch and dinner. After you finished eating in the past and got up there was someone there to clean the table. A quick turnover - not anymore. We watched the NCL crew at breakfast from our ship cleaning tables. There were 7 people on the back of the ship turning over tables to Carnival's zero people. I have never seen dirty tables sit for such a long time. On Captain's dinner nite there was no Captain or officer's to be found. We never once seen the Captain or officer's during the cruise. Not even at the repeat cruisers celebration. The cruise director, Karl with a K, was the emcee. We did not like Karl - thought he was obnoxious. He should stick to singing. His singing voice was not bad but his jokes were awful. The entertainment on the ship was terrible. We quit going to the auditorium because the entertainment kept getting worse. The dining room dinners had little variety. Same menu daily with a few changes. The ship has an awful layout. We did not like where the gym was. You could not see the ocean when you were using the equipment. I know that had to be a lounge before the refurbished the ship. Thank God we came with friends because they made the cruise a great cruise. We did enjoy ourselves but have found Carnival has cut too many corners. They are tanking fast. I heard too many people complaining about the same things. We did enjoy all of our ports. We only did one cruise shore excursion and that was Champagne reef snorkel. It was well worth it - totally enjoyed it. We did all of our excursions off the ship with friends. Had a great time on all islands.

Cabin Review

Cabin Ins

We had inside and it was fine. Nothing great but had enough room to be comfortable.
