Easier to fly and cruise from Barcelona than drive to Southampton.
The service throughout the ship couldn't be faulted if a little forced at times. The Havana Club was worth paying a bit extra for and the extended balcony gave good space to relax in. Unfortunately its ambiance deteriorated after 7 p.m. when the Havana Bar and its pools were made available to all passengers. As a consequence, I now know a lot about the American Social Security System that I would rather have replaced with the peace and quiet you expect on a rear facing balcony.
The food in both the dining room and the self service areas was well presented, of good quality and covered a variety of tastes. Even on sea days these areas never seemed crowded and there was plenty of available seating. Drinks were expensive and Carnival are as good as any cruise line in trying to increase customer spending.
Good space, clean, with all facilities working perfectly. We had looked forward to enjoying a couple of relaxing after dinner drinks in the peace and quiet of our rear facing balcony. Allowing non Havana Club passengers into the Havana Club facilities after 7p.m. meant this wasn't possible.
The view from the ship looked as nice as anything ashore
The city looked dirty and the air polluted. From the ship a traffic jam 2 lanes wide stetched from a set of traffic lights back a good mile and more
Been there bbeen fleeced already
Took the courtesy bus into town for $20! cha ching. Nothing memorable.
Looked dirty and run down
