We chose this cruise because we had heard many good things about this beautiful new ship and we got a great price and our 18 month granddaughter could travel for free.

Our cruise left from the port of Miami, since we live in Miami we had to drive to the port. We had to take our car and park at the port which is pricey but there no reasonably priced transportation options when traveling with a small child. If it was husband and I would have taken Uber or Lyft. Embarkation was easy, we arrived around 12:30 by the time we went through security and checked in it was 1 pm and we were allowed to go on the ship. We went to the buffet as our room was not ready until 2 pm. We found that the staff at the port was very young and inexperienced compared to the other cruise lines but it was ok.

Once we were on the ship we had to go to a kiosk to register our credit card and also reserve all shows.

Cabin Review

Bella Balcony Stateroom

Cabin B1

Our cabin was very nice, we had a Bella balcony, (9137) it was confortable and there was sufficient storage space for my husband and I (we travel light) in the room and in the bathroom. The shower was very small - you had to open the glass door to stretch your arms. The closet was a little uncomfortable as you could not open both sides. My daughter (cabin next door) traveling with her husband and a toddler did not have enough space for all their stuff. Our cabin stewart Javier was wonderful, kept our room clean, came in twice a day, and provided for all of our needs.

Port Reviews

San Juan

We took a cab and went to the Embassy Suites Casino in Isla Verde. Not the best casino we have been to.

Came back to Old San Juan and had lunch at Barrachina - where they say the invented the Pina Colada. Best Pina Colada I ever had and had some appetizers for lunch. Love this place.

Puerto Rico seems to be back to normal after last year's hurricane. This is one of my favorite ports.

St. Maarten

We walked around the port area and went into the little shops.

Nassau

We took a cab and went to Baha Mar Resort in Cable Beach. It is a beautiful resort and they have a huge casino with lots and lots of slots machine.

I asked if you can pay to use the pool and the beach and they said it is only for their guests. But you can walk around and look at all their shops, and the pool and the beach unlike Atlantis.

The pools are beautiful and they have a nice beach. They are going to build a water park, maybe once is built they will allow cruisers to spend the day at the resort.
