This cruise was given to us by our children for our 40th Anniversary. As they say "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth" :)
As such, it was a wonderful trip, and NCL have very nice personnel.
Still, this being our second NCL trip, and 4th Cruise overall, it is worth mentioning a few things.
Nice, a bit smaller than I expected, but clean. Decent bed, ok sitting area.
Staff service was good, as one would expect.
Good room, watched the Statue of Liberty on the way down river during the start of the voyage. Returned to a glorious sunrise over lower Manhattan on the return.
Bad weather, went through the shops near the ship. My wife returned to the ship and I did a nice walk up to the fort at the top of the Hill, also visited the beautiful Halifax library.
Beautiful weather enhanced our stop, but in general this is a good shopping stop, and there is a nice island you can walk out to, at lower tides... clearly marked and everyone does it.
That said, going to Arcadia is great as well. I don't think you can go wrong at Bar Harbor.
A few shops in town, and some good restaurants. Seems like the only "excursion" is going to shop at LL Bean, which we'd been to, and also have an LL Bean close to home.
