Cruising to Alaska was always on our “Bucket List” and the Pearl didn’t disappoint. We stayed in Seattle for a couple of days at the Gaslight Inn, a beautiful old mansion. It was within walking distance or a short Uber ride of Seattle’s main attractions. We even visited a very unique restaurant; The Pine Box, Excellent Pizza and it once was a funeral home where Bruce Lee’s wake was held and celebrities like Steve McQueen, Chuck Norris, James Coburn were among the pallbearers. Another quirky thing to do is the Underground Tour. I don’t want to spoil the surprise by telling too much, just do it!
There are so many excursions to choose from on the cruise. Our choices ranged from the Lumberjack show, Whale watching, White Pass &Yukon Route train tour and more. The Salmon bake at Liarsville was memorable as our visit to the Red Onion. The highlight was Whale watching and spotting whales breaching. It was like watching a Whale ballet.
If there was a downside to the cruise, is that we felt we didn’t have enough time to tours the ports after going on the excursions. This was very apparent when visiting Victoria. The tour to the Butchart Gardens was wonderful, however we missed touring a most beautiful city.
For the two of us, the cabin was spacious. The balcony was wonderful! It gave us an excellent view of beauty of Alaska and its wildlife. Sitting on the balcony and taking in the Majesty of the Mountains , Stars, Whales, Eagles and more.
