I booked this cruise for my significant other and I because of the value and the port location as Baltimore is only 1.5 hours drive from our home. After reading mixed reviews, I was skeptical that the Pride would deliver. However, I was pleasantly surprised!
Embarkation was very smooth and it took approximately 1 hour from the time we arrived at the port to the time we were enjoying lunch and drinks on the Lido deck. The delay was primarily parking as we arrived early (around 1145) and passengers from the previous cruise were still leaving. I do want to mention that our arrival time was not until 1. However, NOVA traffic is hit or miss; we left the house a bit earlier to avoid tardiness and as a result arrived early. This did not present any problems for us as we were still allowed to embark. Parking was easy (although $15 per day) and luggage drop off a breeze. Embarkation staff are welcoming and ran like a well oiled machine.
The ship is older and you can notice a bit of wear and tear but nothing concerning and certainly nothing that kept us from enjoying ourselves. We had a cabin with a balcony on deck 7. Décor was dated but the cabin was spacious for the two of us and we enjoyed the balcony. Bed was firm but that is how we like it.....overall we slept great! We did experience some noise from above but that is to be expected in any type of accommodation.
