We chose this ship because of the itinerary and to celebrate our 40th anniversary. We boarded around noon and embarkation was smooth and quick. We had an interior cabin which was comfortable with ample storage for our clothes and personal items. The bathroom was stocked with a liquid soap on the shower wall and 2 small bars of soap.
Dining: We had My Time Dining, food was mediocre at best, menu rarely changed, Breakfast in the dining room was terrible and choices were limited, the windjammer offered the normal breakfast items on the buffet, on the last day everything was cold...bacon, eggs, potatoes, worst breakfast ever. Desserts were stale, boring and lacked flavor. Twice we were charged for alcohol and had to go to guest services to have it removed. I'm still at a loss as to how our account was charged since we never ordered anything but Ice tea or coffee in the dining room. No explanation was offered other than sometimes mistakes happen. The coffee station outside the Windjammer was available 24 hrs, problem was the coffee was always old and lukewarm. Cafe Latte-tudes offered Ben and Jerry's, sandwiches and desserts, left over dinner rolls were passed off as pastries by filling them with some kind of jam and covered in powdered sugar to disguise them, they were disgusting. Restaurant hours were very limited across the venue and complimentary beverages....ice tea, lemonade and flavored juices, with the exception of lukewarm coffee or tea bags were non existent and tightly locked up in the Windjammer.
Entertainment: the dancers and singers need more practice, most performances were on par with a high school performing arts department at best.
We did this on our own. Boarded the train and went to Monaco, it took about 25 min to get there. The casino is within walking distance, easy to do on your own.
Our driver was awesome, he arranged for an olive oil tasting and tour at the last minute. He was friendly and enjoyable. Excellent service.
Very expensive city, bring your plenty of Euros!
