Having been on Ventura twice before, thought we would be ok in E112, deck 8 , (affectionately now named "roller coaster" deck), bad mistake - which was admittedly our own fault. After 5 days was unbearable, P&O duty managers excellent and very understanding and changed our cabin to C424, which was so much better. Were told interactive service in cabin was not working for this cruise, however it appears to have been removed long ago. Both cabins were clean, stewards were good. Had freedom dining, which was good as always (saffron), buffet was better than before, lots of choice, only rude passengers pushing in spoilt this. The staff in the buffet and the bars were excellent. Could have a better design in the tea/coffee area, always ends up as a bottleneck trying to get a coffee. Didn't see any evidence of the 30 mins sunbed towel removal rule, but we don't really spend all day sunbathing so not really an issue for us.

Disembarkation in ports was good, not in Oporto though and some passengers couldn't get off as shuttle buses were a problem. Tours to Rome and Sorrento & Pompeii really good value for money, tender in Alghero was well organised and not much waiting time.

The evening entertainment wasn't as good as on previous cruises but there was enough choice. Overall we love this ship, yes there are some things that may not be as good as previous cruises, but P&O still really good.
