Joined my son and his family. They chose the Gem for the itinerary, which did not disappoint. However, after sailing on the Getaway and Escape, we found onboard activities lacking. The Atrium has too small a space and not enough seating to accommodate the more popular offerings.

The food in the main dining rooms was adequate, but not great. The specialty restaurants had the same good quality as on the larger ships. Moderno's salad bar and meat choices were lacking in variety and, therefore, disappointing. Teppanyaki can only accommodate something like a dozen guests. Our party of 5 could not all eat together there.

I was disappointed in that most bars did not serve frozen drinks like Pina Colada. That's my drink of choice, and it took some of the fun of cruising away having to search for a bar where I could get my drink.

Mid-Ship Balcony

Cabin BA

There were 3 of us sharing the cabin. The bathroom was tight to move around in with not enough storage space. It was difficult getting to the balcony with the sofa bed being open.
