We took our grandson on the cruise of his choice as his graduation from Middle School. He could have chosen any one of many cruises with Viking River or another cruise line, but he wanted to see both Paris and Normandy. He was not disappointed, nor were we. He had studied beforehand so he knew many of the places we went to and that added to his enjoyment, I'm sure. Our flight arrived so early, that Viking provided us with an addition excursion for four hours downtown with an excellent map in hand. It was wonderful. Then we ended our trip with the Night tour of the City of Lights. It could not have been better. We had photos of the Eifel Tower by day and by night, close by and at a distance. We could not have asked for more.

I should add that each port satisfied his and our interest in historical sites. Words fails me in describing how moving the Normandy portion was.

My grandson appreciated the friendliness of the crew for a not often seen teenager onboard. The dining stewards were especially helpful in answering his questions. He also was elated to choose the watercolor painting class because he is interested in art.

Deluxe Stateroom

Cabin E

Although rather small, we did not spend much time in our cabin. We knew beforehand because we chose a similar cabin on a longer Amsterdam to Budapest river cruise and were more than satisfied. We loved the storage space for all of our belongings and also that we could stow our luggage away. The bathroom worked out well, too.
