The length, 8 days was perfect for us. The experience of having your hotel room follow you from destination to destination was an added perk. The ship and our cabin were 5 star. Cruising on the river watching the world go by on the upper deck was one of our favorite activities. Dining was beyond exceptional with a pleasantly varied menu. The outstanding service by a terrific staff, whether it be in the dining room, in the lounge or just at the front desk made us feel like this was a place we frequently many times. Shore excursions, onboard entertainment and activities were definitely first rate. The shore excursions were always informative and fun. We learned so much about French history and the French people. We are definitely planning another Viking River Cruise for next year, possibly on the Danube River. We are looking forward to another fantastic exploration of European history and culture.
