We wanted to sail out of New York City and thought this cruise would be a good fit. The ship was beautiful, the room was nice, however the service was very disappointing. It started with the 1.5 hour wait in line to get onto the ship. Then there was a long line to get into dinner the first night while only one crew member had the list to help find passenger’s s find appropriate entrance to the dining room. It was very disorganized. At least two waiters were unable to describe the menu items when asked. Although many staff smiled and said hello in a hallway, most did not. The bartender and wait staff on deck were unfriendly at best. It was not a good experience. There were no more than one staff person to direct passengers who were not clear how to navigate the process of getting off the ship for excursions. There were no signs on the ship to help people get to places where they needed to be. And when arriving in Brooklyn, we were told to assemble in the Queens room and once there, we were told we did not need to go there and could leave the ship anytime. Once again, this told us that the staff was not trying to anticipate passenger needs and assist them. And finally, we were very unhappy in both the written and verbal comments, we were told we could not see the Boston fireworks from the ship, but recommended places to go in the city to see fireworks. This was not true. We were lucky that we just happen to wonder onto deck 11 and see that the fireworks could be nicely seen from the ship.

Overall, there was just a lack of service and attention to passenger needs. We do not recommend Cunard. We are truly disappointed in our experience.

The cabin's are nice to average. However the cleaning and stocking of towels, ice, etc. was terrible. We never saw our purser once we boarded.
