The reason for the cruise was for a wedding! For our first cruise all myths went out the window! Make sure you get there early to make sure you have everything. Rooms are not ready when you board but the food was. There is no shortage of food and liquor. I thought I'd feel the movement of the boat and we didn't. We're already planning for another cruise. On this cruise ship Empress of the Seas, the cruise director needs to be more present! This a cruise for families. They need more activities. When making announcements you couldn't hear it in your cabin.

When you book an excursion before your trip tickets are already in your room with time and place too meet. When getting off the boat it all went smoothly. Always have your sea pass with you. I'd invest in a lanyard with a clear pocket to put your sea pass.

The only real negative was when the cruise was disembarking. They need more staff facilitating this process. Also check with guest services about your bill after the ship leaves port, to make sure you're not being charged for something you've already purchased. I saw this happen to a few people and it affected the card on file.
