We had been interested in a 4 day cruise and kind of booked last minute so all that was available for the week that we had open was the NCL Sun and Sky. After researching both ships, it sounded like the Sun was a better choice due to the recent renovation and dry dock refurbishment. We are Palm Beach area based so Miami or Port Canaveral were both easy options for departure ports and my boyfriend and I opted for the Sun from Canaveral.

Embarkation was a breeze. We arrived at 11:30, dropped our bags and parked at the terminal garage, ($17/per day) and walked the short distance to the terminal. Lines were fairly short and we were able to board quickly. We had not advance purchased the Cuba visa so the agent at check in facilitated that and just charged our card the $150 right there. She did misinform us that we would not require our passports in Cuba. This is not true, you must present your passport to the customs official upon departure in the port and carry it with you during the visit to present to immigration officials upon returning to ship. Staterooms were not ready until about 1:15 so we had time for lunch in the Seven Seas dining room and a drink by the pool before we could drop our things in the room, which worked out just fine.

This was an all-inclusive cruise, which was a really nice feature. There were no lines at the bars, nobody seemed to get out of hand, (except upon returning to ship from Key West but that's what a day in Key West will do) and the booze options were top shelf with plenty of beer and wine options as well.

Cabin Review

Family Balcony

Cabin B2

Cabin was tastefully redone with nice, updated finishes but the shower...I wish that they had stepped it up a little bit and invested in glass enclosures rather than leaving the curtain. Its such a tiny shower and the curtain clings to you like saran wrap. We are not large people but if we had been the shower would've been a scene. Balcony was lovely and the bed was firm but comfortable with nice enough duvet and linens. Lots of storage space, drawers and cabinets everywhere. The only odd thing is there was no night stand on 1 side of the bed when it was made up. I guess when the beds are split into twins the nightstand is shared? A small detail but strange. I asked our cabin steward to provide robe and slippers and he happily and quickly accommodated.
