We choose this cruise because we were taking our 13 year old son and his best friend on a summer vacation and were looking for a cruise that had a lot of activities for younger teens. Extremely disappointed due to the fact that they could not hang out together in the teen lounge together because his friend was just shy a couple of months of being 13, and they would not allow him in that group, so they could not do anything together at all in the clubs, that was a COMPLETE dissappoinment!! Then they could not swim in the pool they had because it was so small for them, and the other pool they had was for adults only. The pictures of the pools online are VERY decieving. The adult pool was so so very small you could never get in it because people sat all the way around it and there was never any room for many of us to get in it. People would get up before the sun would come up and go and reserve thier seats, which you are not suppose to do and the staff would never do anything about it, if they were using the seats then fine, but i sat and watched for a couple hours one day from the deck above and there would be seats with stuff on them for 2 or more hours and never did anyone come and sit there, so that was extremly disappointing.

i would say only a handful of the staff were friendly, and this was something we were not use to at all, of the other 5 cruises we have been on the staff went out of thier way to say Hi or speak to you, not on the Getaway, they never said Hi or spoke with you, and if you did need something they made you feel like you were bothering them. There was a few that were totally awesome but the majority of them need some real training on customer service and how to interact with people. You had to wait forever to get a drink and the bartender's did not care, they had one speed and were not stepping it up for anyone!

It was our sons birthday and I paid 40.00 to have the cabin decorated with a cake the day we arrived, it was also our Anniversary on day 6 and paid to have the room decorated that day as well, BUT when we got on board the room was decorated with Birthday and Anniversary decorations, I was so upset and pissed that I spent 80 bucks for this and it was totally screwed up!!!
