I have been on over 25 cruises with different cruise companies and the Celebrity Summit was the best cruise experience. I’ll start with embarkation. It was the easiest ever. The cruise went out of Bayonne, New Jersey. We arrived at the port at noon and we were on the ship before 12:30. I have read prior reviews about the ship looking worn and tired. Yes some of the chairs in the buffet were worn , but the ship was clean and the perfect size for me, my spouse, and my in laws. (The ship is due for refurbishment in 2019). We are in our 50’s and my in laws are in their 70’s. We choose this cruise because of the itinerary to Bermuda and New England and because we did not want tons of children on board even though it was summer. There were some children on board, but they were well behaved. I have previously sailed with Celebrity twice before and have had a great experience on Celebrity ships but this trip seemed extra special.

The staff was excellent! The captain was visible everywhere on the ship. He attended all sorts of activities, even participated in a game show! When we arrived back after days in port, he and his officers were there greeting everyone back on the ship. The cruise director, Dan and his activity team were awesome. The range of activities was great. From the standard trivia, to game shows, to dance parties, to pool activities, to cultural highlights, to cooking demonstrations, etc. The entertainment was top notch. We had a variety of singers

and comedians brought on board that made us feel as if we were at a Vegas show or on Broadway. The ships bands and singers were also great and there was always live music playing somewhere on the ship. From a duo of classical string players to a solo guitarist

Inside Stateroom 11

Cabin 11

Located near the front of the ship. It was quiet and well maintained. Our room attendant was very friendly and accommodating.

Port Reviews

Bayonne (Cape Liberty)

Easy port to depart from even though it is a big city. Great view of the New York skyline!
