We wanted to visit Alaska and took our entire family.
We found the breakfast buffet to be fine. The lunch options were good although the burger/pizza stand could have used more staff. The evening meals were average not as good as on prior cruises. The dining staff was attentive. The specialty Italian restaurant was below average (coming from the Northeast we are used to quality Italian cuisine). The specialty steak restaurant was very good.
The disembarkation was as if we were leaving Dunkirk! We were placed in long lines at 7:30 am and eventually put on a bus to tour Vancouver. There was not much organization and it came close to total confusion. No breakfast service until we reached the first stop well after 9:00 am. where we could purchase a muffin and coffee.
We were ready to return home but faced a close to 10 hour wait at the Vancouver airport and two additional hours at Toronto. It took us 26 hours to get home as a result of the flights that Princess arranged. It significantly reduced the good feeling we should have felt from the cruise.I sensed the attitude was this cruise is over let's forget about these passengers.
It will be difficult when asked about this Princess cruise not to open the discussion with a recap of the horrid return flights.Word of mouth will not be good!
