After returning from a superb week on the Equinox, I am amazed at any negative review from other Cruise Critic members. Some negative reviews mention the crowds at embarkation, the pool bar, buffet and pool; however, crowds should be expected if you travel on a late June cruise! Also, I liked the way ALL passengers were treated well despite their stateroom price or number of previous Celebrity cruises.
The ship is beautiful and well-maintained, and dedicated crew members constantly cleaned the restrooms outside the pool and dining rooms during busy times. Service is delightful in the Silhouette dining room and specialty dining rooms. The Tuscan Grille and Silk Harvest with maitre’d Mr. Amir are not to be missed. Order the lemon cheesecake! There is a charge for specialty restaurants, but it is much less than anyone would pay for such meals off the ship. The gym is good, and we saw many passengers enjoying the yoga and spin classes. We didn’t want spa treatments and weren’t pushed to take a long spa tour like other cruise ships push the first day. Cabin storage is small, but it is adequate for two people. Our cabin was meticulously cleaned twice each day by Dameon.
Singer Sashi entertained crowds each night (don’t miss her sweet voice) and the two comedians on board were hilarious. The Silent Disco is also a fun event, so they repeated it three times on the cruise.
Great balcony, and there’s nice room in the shower. Water is contained by the lip on the floor, so the bathroom stays dry.
