We originally booked a 5-night cruise on a different ship based on its itinerary (Key West and Cozumel). When Royal Caribbean changed up things in November, we were moved to the Majesty and a different itinerary. We had already taken the time off work and there were no cruises to Key West the week we had arranged to cruise, so we stuck with the changes and are so glad we did! The Majesty is a smaller and older ship, but what is lacks in bells and whistles it more than makes up for in service. We prefer a smaller ship with fewer crowds anyway, and don't need much beyond drinks and a pool to keep ourselves busy, so it was a great fit for us. We stayed in an Oceanview room on deck 2...it was quiet and we didn't feel much movement. We ate in the MDR each evening but had lunch in the Windjammer. The buffet was fine but nothing great, but the Starlight Dining room never disappointed. We went to the headliner shows each evening and a few other events around the ship and we're thoroughly entertained by all of it. We got off the ship in both Costa Maya and Cozumel but did not use RC to book any excursions. We just browsed around and enjoyed some guacamole and drinks at the pier in Costa Maya, and in Cozumel booked our own day at Nachi Cocom (for about half the price of any beach breaks RC offered, although we did have to pay $18 for the cab ride each way).

There were not a ton of kids on the ship, which we liked. Families with kids might be a little bored by the lack of "cool" stuff like the Flowrider or ice rink. There seemed to be a few more older kids who were basically contained to the teen club most of the day.

The bars were great. In particular we enjoyed Bolero's, as it was usually a little less crowded and the bartenders were superb. We had to wait a little longer to be served at Schooner Bar and Spectrum, but the service was great at both of those and the pool bars as well. There were also plenty of people on the pool deck walking around taking drink orders so we rarely had to get out of our chairs. We never had trouble getting chairs at the pool and the towel service was quick and efficient. Restrooms were always being cleaned. The only thing that was a little annoying was that there were only two Coke Freestyle machines on board and both were on deck 12...a bit of a hike from our cabin.

Cabin 2N

Obviously a bit small but there was ample storage and the bed was comfortable.

Port Reviews

Costa Maya

Costa Maya is basically a tourist trap. Lots of shops with the proprietors trying to convince you to buy things you don't need or want. We did not leave the port but there were interesting-sounding excursions.
