A family member chose the cruise; we sail Carnival annually, but do not do so in the summer months and we have never sailed out of NY. Our family member was in Havana and were on the 10th Fl w/balcony. Neither of us understood what the Havana rooms meant until we got on board. It is essentially a private section of the boat for those peope with Havana rooms only. What a waste - that pool was never used - while the 2 small pools on 10 were overcrowded.
the ship was new and beautiful. On this ship it would be easier to list what i did like instead of what i didn't- The rooms were nice slightly smaller, - j ust like everything else on board - SMALLER - the theatre 1/2 size, wasted space, lines winding around the ship to wait and see if you could get a seat 1/2 hour before showtime; 2 small pools for 4900 people and 1/2 the poolside chairs; very hard to find shade; a serenity deck to get away from all the kids with no way to cool off and wasted space;music blaring to suit only the NY guests - YUCH; did not seem to see many staff roaming and interacting like they "usually" do; lots of activities - always at the same time as dinner or another popular activity; no appropriate place to play bingo; and food - with lots of dining options; the food was good except in the dining room - no flavor and seemed like the meats were recycled. and lines everywhere!
The social director was their 1 saving grace. too much $ spent on looks and electronics; so disappointed.
new - nice - clean. Loved the new feature with saving electricity
