Firstly this is going to look like the usual MSC slag off, but prior to this cruise MSC has been one of our favourite cruise lines. The problem seems to be that they have let standards slip well below what you would expect.

Following a joint transfer from Nice to join the ship, our cases were sent to MSC Seaview and we had to run after them to retrieve them to be sent to Fantasia.

We had a very embarrassing situation when ordering a drink at the bar because the wrong beverage code had been put on the card (we had purchased all inclusive) and had to have new cards issued. Not a good start with both these issues on the first day.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin B2

Good size and the cleanest part of the ship

Port Reviews

Cannes

This is a tender port that takes you to the centre of town. The beach is to the left and right and the town centre is straight ahead and right. It's a nice town with good shops. Have a look for the "stars" hand prints in the pavement from the film festival.

Palma de Mallorca (Majorca)

Best tip don't use the ship shuttle as the local bus (No1 or port shuttle) is only a fraction of the cost and right outside the port entrance.

Barcelona

Big city, don't use the ship shuttle as the local port transfer shuttle is a fraction of the cost and takes you to the same place. they are very frequent and you can pick them up to the left hand side as you come out of the port terminal.

Corsica (Ajaccio)

Nice town with good shops and a great beach, all in walking distance from the ship.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Mainly used for trips to Rome but it is quite a long way on the coach.

La Spezia (Cinque Terre)

Great town with a nice harbour. You will need to take the free shuttle to the port entrance, from there it is all easy walking
