This was our 4th cruise with Princess. I don't know if it is just this ship or itinerary but we were disappointed in several things: 1) Dining room food was mediocre, 2) Dining personnel seemed indifferent with the exception of a couple that warmed up, 3) Dining service was slow, 4) Tendering at 2 ports was awful. We waited over an hour in one line without even moving. People further back us said they waited 2 hrs. We had no complaints on any of our previous cruises. That being said, we did enjoy the itinerary of the various ports/countries. We had fantastic private tours that gave us wonderful views of the country/cities along with the history of each. The person who kept our cabin was extraordinary. He was friendly, always ready to help, greeted you with a friendly smile and hello every time we met in the hallway. Would we do this again? YES! Do we hope they improve? YES!

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MC

Our cabin was very roomy. The bath had a full tub with shower. There were 2 electric outlets. I brought a multi-plug for our various devices which worked well, leaving other plug for hairdryer.

Port Reviews

St. Peter Port (Guernsey)

It was okay. Mostly a shopping experience. I think if we would have waited in the long line for the £2 bus ride we probably would have enjoyed it more. Advise doing that.

Cobh (Cork)

We had a wonderful tour with Butler Tours with Ian as the guide/bus driver. He had a great sense of humor and was full of historical information. This is where he grew up so he knows the area.

Dublin

My hubby and I booked 2 tours in Dublin: 1) Guiness brewery, 2) Jameson Whiskey. Guiness was interesting but basically was a self guided tour by reading wall plaques as you made your way through the factory. Jameson was very interesting with a live person giving the history of the company and process. We also booked the special tasting for after the tour. A complete lesson in whiskey tasting. Would definitely go to Jameson again. IMPORTANT Book your tours online before arriving or you will wait a long time. Also book the shuttle from port to downtown.

Greenock (Glasgow)

Hubby and I booked a private tour with Photowalk Scotland. Tom was delightful, humorous, and full of historical knowledge. Since it was just the 2 of us, he took us off the beaten path to some gorgeous photo opportunities. We spent the day exploring many parts of Glencoe and enjoyed every minute. Tom knew the perfect spots to stop for a snack and lunch. I highly recommend his company for a special day in this port.

Le Havre

Although many negatives have been written about this city, we enjoyed just meandering around. We visited St. Joseph cathedral which was amazing. Ironically we were there on a Sunday and there was a marketplace open for shopping with MANY vendors. It was fun wandering through it and seeing all the different items, unusual to us Americans. We used the 16 Euro shuttle to get to town center and back.
