Watch out other cruise lines, the Bliss is a major threat! I have been on 26 cruises and most recently 4 of them have been on the new NCL ships (Breakaway/Breakaway + class) in the past 4 years. Each time I go on their latest iteration the experience gets better. I have been on the Escape twice now and loved that ship as well as the Getaway, but the Bliss is even better. How you ask? Let me count the ways. Read further and I will tell you.

First off, my wife and I are from Scottsdale, Arizona and June is the hottest month of the year, so it is a perfect time for us to go Alaska for the cooler weather. I actually prefer the Caribbean, but my wife had never seen Alaska and when NCL announced the Bliss (built for Alaska) I booked our cabin. That was almost 2 years ago. We flew in the day of departure and arrived at the terminal around 11:30am. There was a line around the building to get through security. It moved relatively fast and we were at check in within 15 minutes or so. Check in took maybe 5 minutes and we boarded the ship with no waiting. We called our travel companions and had them meet us at Taste for lunch.

After a wonderful lunch we parted ways, went to our cabin, got settled in and I went exploring the ship, here is our impressions on the new things on the ship and what we enjoyed:

Cabin Review

Mid-ship Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BC

We had cabin 8738. This is the typical mid-ship balcony cabin however it has a huge angled balcony, probably 4 times the normal size. We had space for 2 chairs, 2 lounge chairs, one large table and a side table and still had room to walk around comfortably. Our steward (Christian) was friendly and attentive to our needs. We like being on deck 8 as it is close to everything. Even though our cabin was just above the Theater we never heard any noise, just the crashing of the waves from the bow while our cabin door was open.
