We chose the cruise for the ports of call. We have cruised with NCL before and have enjoyed the services. We had a very bad experience with NCL transfer from airport to cruise terminal in Copenhagen. We were left waiting in the heat for about two hours for the bus. The NCL staff kept telling us bus delayed by traffic and it would be 15 minutes. We were left standing in the heat with no water and poor communications. The trip took 45 minutes once the bus finally arrived. We normally take public transportation, and I'd recommend the train and bus to the cruise port. It would be much faster and more comfortable. The embarkation was slow. The terminal in Copenhagen was a large tent, full of people. It was hot, no water, long line ups. Normally NCL has nice terminals. The ship is large and seemed crowded all the time. Lots of pushing, shoving, difficulty finding tables at the buffet. Loud family groups. Not good supervision of buffet, since people picking up things with their hands. Salads were good, but the meat at the buffet was awful. Roast beef so tough you couldn't chew it. I watch the chef carve it wrong way on the grain and was amazed at his lack of carving skills. It was just so crowded at the buffet with poor quality food. I heard many complaints from people. The ship really needs water bottle filling stations since so many people were ignoring the sign not to fill them at the buffet drink station, but there was no other place to fill water bottles.! We ate at the dining room for dinner and the food was good there but often not very warm. I was surprised that there was often quite loud entertainment in the Manhattan dining room. Made dinner conversations difficult. Opted to dine in the quieter, Taste and Savor dining rooms. The central atrium area is so small for such a large ship and was so crowded. Very few people in the pool area. It's an open pool area and weather was cooler on board in the Baltic. Should have some covered pools of northern climates The fitness room did not have any showers. Has to sign up for spa to use the showers. It's probably worth it to pay the extra for the spa areas so you can find a quitter area to relax and a warmer pool area. Our mini suite was very nice, even though balcony quite small. We were surprised that we never did see or meet the room porter, nor did the room have Fresh drinking water. This is usually a service that comes with the suites. We noticed dishes left in hallways for up to 12 hours, as well as garbage in a hallways. Staff seemed to be disgruntled and we heard stories of staff being reprimanded by their managers in front of guests. The quality of staff and service was not what we expected. I guess NCL hopes you will buy specialty services in restaurants. To Cirque show had extra charge. Entertainment was mediocre. The ports of call were amazing. We arranged our own excursions in all ports except Stockholm, where we used the ship transfer into the city. It is a long trip from the port to the train and to the city.

Loved the ports of call but the food and entertainment were disappointing

Cabin Review

Family Mini-Suite with Balcony
Cabin M2
Cabin was very nice. Roomier than regular balcony room. Bathroom much larger. Very comfortable. Balcony is small but adequate for two people.

We never did see a room porter but our room was well maintained Dishes left in hallways for long periods of time. They did not bring drinking water to our suite,

  • City Tour
Copenhagen is a beautiful city. We did the tour the day after our cruise ended. The bus came to the stops frequently to get off and on. The canal tour was included and was great.

The bus was at the cruise port. A good way to see the city. We didn't have any specific plans, but visited the Church at the Rock, the Sibelius monument, walked the parks, and enjoyed a city tour. Only complaint was the waiting time at the bus stop by the church in the rock. Waited nearly an hour for the next bus. Weather was perfect. Beautiful port

  • Rostock (Warnemunde)
Rostock is very interesting. We took a short walk from the cruise ship to the train stain, and took the train into Rostock. The train left regularly and was comfortable. Train trip was about half an hour. We toured two churches, the old walled area, and waterfront, then walked through a shopping area. Very nice. Enjoyable day. Met a local man who gave us lots of history of the community.

  • Stockholm
Good way to get into the city, because it's a long trip. Only one time to return, so you are there for the day. It was a cool day in Stockholm but we enjoyed the Nobel museum, various activities including a food fair that was happening in the park. Beautiful

  • Tallinn
We loved Tallin. It's a beautiful old city. It's easy walking distance from the ship and lots of museums, churches, walking areas and shopping. The day we were there there was a celebration in the town square, where children and their teachers were dressed in traditional clothing and choirs were singing to celebrate an anniversary of the community. I was impressed by lovely wooden and knitted garments, and bought some lovely yarn in a local shop. There was a focus on high quality, locally crafted items.
