We choose this cruise mainly for the itinerary. We arrived a day early to explore Bergen a little. Embarkation was a breeze, as was disembarkation. The dining was very good, with local options (food from port we were in) every night. We enjoyed the on-board lectures re the history and things to see at the ports of call. Service was excellent, never having to wait for someone to come along and answer our questions about whatever. Most of the ports of call were excellent, and the included shore excursions were adequate. And we found that we really didn't need a drink pkg., as wine and beer were served at both Lunch and Dinner. We did get a few drinks in the evenings while watching the onboard entertainment, or dancing in Torshavn to an excellent Viking band led by Vince and his wife, Jenifer (her spelling).
In summary, we enjoyed our cruise, were grateful there was no Casino on board, and can say no bad about the ship.
Very clean (although one chair cushion had stains). Loved the heated floor in the bathroom. However, the closet is in an awkward position. Only one person could get to it at a time. The balcony was small but adequate. Our room attendant was excellent. When we asked for extra hangers, we had them in less than 10 minutes.
Interesting port, but be ready for expensive meals. A ride up the Floibanen is a must on a clear day. Great overview of Bergen, its' harbour and surrounding area.
We took the included Scenic Hardangervidda Nature Centre tour. Interesting, but we think too much time spent in this port. Very small town, with little to do except hike.
Tour was good, but crammed too much into too short a time (2 hrs.) We could have spent 2-3 hrs. in the Oil Museum alone.View All undefined undefined Reviews
We took the ship included 2.5 hr, walking tour, as well as walking around ourselves. Enjoyed this town. Would've liked a longer tour to see and hear more about this place.
Included City tour was informative, but too short. City is plagued by too much construction while we were there. Street signs and directions were not clear enough. We got lost trying to find our way to Tivoli Gardens.View All 201 City Tour Reviews
Long train ride from Warnemunde to Berlin and back. Tour was very informative, and jam packed with details. this was a paid tour offered by the ship.View All 100 Berlin Reviews
Long full day tour, but great information. Stutthof was a sobering experience.View All undefined undefined Reviews
Enjoyed this walking tour (we did most of it by ourselves earlier in the day), and the information from the guide.View All 189 Old Town of Tallinn Reviews
Jam packed 2 day tour, and we paid extra for an evening folk dance show. Lots of info and places seen. Well worth the $$$, even though expensive.View All undefined undefined Reviews
Tried to cover all aspects of the city, and while informative, could have been longer, and shown a little more.View All undefined undefined Reviews
We did our own touring here. Got tickets to the Hop -on, Hop-off boats, and visited the Vasa Museum, the Abba museum ( had lunch nearby, also not inexpensive), And walked around. In the evening we did a Ghost walk (pre-paid on the web), which was entertaining. We got the Viking shuttle bus back to ship (free service provided by Viking.
