We specifically sought out the Horizon for its fun and new features, i.e. imax, sky ride, on board brewery and smokehouse. Debarking from NYC was just gravy but it made our trip that much more special. We arrived the day before and were able to take a pedicab tour through Central Park, visit MoMa, Ellis Island and take a train from Grand Central Terminal to a Yankees game all before we even got in the ship! There was very little wait in boarding. The food is fantastic. If Guy’s Fierri offered his burgers and barbecue in my town, they would be my new go to places to eat. Pizza was terrific. There is a wait, but usually no more than 15 minutes in line at any point in the day. Maybe the Lido l buffets aren’t Vegas style grabs buffets with unlimited choices but they have good food and it is always ready and easily accessible with little to no waiting. The main dining is really good. Some waiters try harder than others and you can tell the incentive for excellent service isn’t there due to them not getting direct tips. Still, that’s just nitpicking because we had some waiters that were very. attentive. I imagine it’s a very hard job with the long hours and number of guests but we still always felt taken care of.
The entertainment is great. Funny comedians, great shows, good movies and plenty for the kids to do.
Plenty of bars around and I never had to wait too long for a drink anywhere on the ship at anytime. The main pool does get over crowded but we didn’t hang out there too often. Our room steward was great and always had our room in perfect order.
Wonderful place to relax and plenty of room for a family of four. I couldn’t ask for anything more from a room.
