A fabulous 30 day, 15 ports, trip on a lovely ship with a great crew. This was the third Princess cruise this year and the first time on the Star Princess.

We arrived very early for embarkation having booked Execucar to pick us up from our LA hotel. We had ordered a van but the driver said he preferred limos and collected us in that for the same price! The embarkation was easy other than confusion about Brazilian visa requirements for UK Citizens (not required) which the staff eventually sorted out. We did have to wait a while as the disembarkation was delayed. After talking to with our steward we left our carry on bags in our cabin although it was not ready and then went exploring the ship.

We were in an accessible cabin since my mother uses a wheelchair. The wide door and extra space really made a difference from the usual cabin we book. The extra wide and deep balcony was fantastic. The only complaint is that the previous occupant had been a very heavy smoker. Princess tried hard but it still took 10 days of cleaning effort to finally rid the cabin of the smell, I think Princess must have replaced everything by the time it was over and I appreciated the effort that was made by all.
