Our third river cruise on Ama and all three have been really pleasant experiences. The first two were the Rhine and Seine; this time it was the Danube, a beautiful river indeed. We enjoyed stops in Brasislava, Vienna, the picture postcard Durnstein, beautiful Regensburg, and a full day of touring in Nuremberg. The staff is always professional, the food was very good with much to select from, and the excursions were well organized. Ama is an excellent company and delivers, in our experience so far, a consistently excellent product. That said, those who have not taken a river cruise will want to note that there are limited onboard activities, entertainment, and dining options. On this cruise, the onborad pianist serves as the DY, for example. They generally bring entertainers onboard a couple of nights during the week. The upside, however, is that you get a peaceful, hassle free experiences without the crowds found on traditional cruise ships.

Cabin Review

Stateroom with French balcony

Cabin C

This is a basic cabin with sliding door veranda. River ships are all the same width in Europe and cabin size is very similar. You can upgrade for a bit more seating space, but more likely to be in the very comfortable public areas. We've has this same type room for all three cruises andit has been very adequate.
