Surprises & pleased to see Captain Kate McCue! She is such a terrific marketing tool - she is so personal & interactive with the staff & passengers. We loved the Equinox - it was our 3rd time onboard. The ship personnel were excellent, food was plentiful, loved Cafe al Bacio, embarkation & disembarkation went very smoothly. Outstanding crew members: Oyda* (cabin steward) Oz* (He would make a terrific Cruise Director!) Kristine & Debbie (Activities) Kian*, Ari, Made (Passport Bar) Henry, Jennylyn, Arlyn & Ogyjen (Silhouette dining staff) & Cuma our waiter from 2017 Also: Don Ryan, Fabian & Mellanie Phillip, Gerald, Andrei, Angela & Agus (Cafe al Bacio) Raluca (Captains Club Host) Julie, Kathy, Edrilyn, Alexandra & Alexandra (Guest Relations) Gerlie* on deck 5 was very friendly (she wants to be a room steward) & Gusti (Cleaning Staff) * Denotes the staff we would like to take home with us! Kian we remembered from our Summit cruise to Quebec in 2016 & he remembered us also! POSITIVES: Loved being docked in New Orleans for 3 days & 2 nights. Lots to see & do - especially the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. That’s the main reason we booked this cruise. Plus we celebrated our 49th anniversary while on board! Calm seas, wonderful weather! Excellent staff, great food! PROBLEMS: 1) We were in cabin 3126 and nightly we were woken up by air conditioner noises that were coming from below us. The noise lasted from 30 seconds to 2 minutes with a loud whoosh at the end and happened about 3 times every 15 minutes. I called Guest Relation and they suggested that we call them the next time it happened and they would come in the room to listen. That was not a solution for us. They definitely could have heard it standing in the hall. 2) My husband performed the Heimlich maneuver on a fellow passenger who could not breath or talk at the entrance to the Silhouette Dining Room & was able to expel a piece of meat. While he was saving her life, I noticed that there were 3-4 cruise personnel just standing around helpless. Every staff member should be trained to perform the Heimlich maneuver. SUGGESTIONS: Movies in the mid-morning. Some movies were being shown during our lunch or dinner time. Need a light in the closet (hard to tell black from navy) Please offer the Cafe al Bacio plates in the gift shops - I would buy some! We personally preferred 2 smaller lobster tails to the 1 larger (it was tough) More sports challenges. Sudoku challenges - please bring those back. This cruise had none.
