We boarded in Amsterdam after a one night stay at the A Train Hotel. A quaint hotel just across from the train station and close to the pier.

The Brilliance is a Beautiful ship. We had great service from happy crew members who constantly said hello and asked how we were. Wonderful itinerary and our privately booked tours with Alla Tours were perfect for our group.

Our cabin was 8604, very close to the elevators and a perfect location. Our traveling companions were right next door.

Skagen

We took the Royal Excursion in Skagen. (Pronounced skaen, in Denmark the g is silent.) We learned that on our excursion. We toured the countryside and were given a great history of the area. We went to the farthest north point for a view. I had wanted to ride out to the point where the NorthSea meets the Baltic, but we just got to look at it. No time to ride out there. I enjoyed the tour anyway.

Amsterdam

We spent the night before the cruise in Amsterdam. Arrived a bit early so we dropped off our luggage and took a canal boat ride. Just charming.

After the cruise I rented a canal boat for three nights. We are still on the boat as I write this review. I love it, but my traveling companions don’t. They don’t like that it creaks and that the steps are small and narrow to reach the living area. Lots of boats go past our mooring and this causes a tiny bit of water movement as well as noise. Doesn’t bother me, but some in my bunch complain. They say they won’t stay on a canal boat again. But I love it.

Went to the Rijksmuseum acouple of days ago and it is outstanding!! A must see. Yesterday we took the train to Haarlem and visited the Corrie Ten Boom House. She and her family hid many Jews during the war and she was put in prision and a concentration camp, but she survived. I saw her in Memphis in 1973 and we have an autographed copy of her book, The Hiding Place, so we wanted to see it in person while we were here. Such a moving experience.

Anne Frank house today and We go home tomorrow.
