I really liked my cruise to Alaska on the Norwegian Bliss. The ship is beautiful and there were plenty of activities to do on the ship. My Mother and I played Bingo, visited the casino, and hung out on the various observation decks. As a first time cruiser, I do believe there should be some indication made about tipping the staff. These people work tirelessly and they should receive tips, period. I’m glad u had enough sense to bring cash with me, but it should be encouraged and advised to bring small bills with you for these occasions as the staff does not have change, at least in my experience. Also, in regards to the great excursions, there is often a bus driver taking you to a location and providing humor and tour guide facts, so I believe these people should be tipped as well. One of my few complaints was that at the coffee area in the Garden Cafe, there was no flavored creamer. This may not matter to most people, but I feel on such a luxurious cruise, some vanilla and hazelnut Coffeemate would’ve been great. I personally can not tolerate half & half as it has dairy and Coffeemate is non-dairy! I know that is really small potatoes in the real world, but Starbucks was just too pricey to be visiting everyday! I appreciated that there was a gym on the ship as well with very nice equipment.

The bed was very comfortable. I’m not sure if I chose the right state room category, but we did have a balcony and I highly recommend that for a cruise like this. The available movies were a bit repetitive, but again, this is not super important. We did not receive coffee pods for the coffee maker for a couple of days, but I’m sure it was an oversight. I do think cruisers should be able to get their own ice though, as sometimes one bucket just isn’t enough.
