We chose this cruise because It covered our required itinerary at that time of the year and followed on to an extension in Scandinavia.
We liked the idea of being settled on the ship in Moscow and St. Petersburg for four days each with a nice river cruise in between. The shore tours in both Moscow and St. Petersburg were excellent (although a little tiring in the unusually hot weather) and covered just about all the sites we wanted to see.
The Volga cruise also had excellent shore excursions with local guides who provided all the information you could want.
Cabin Review
Newly refurbished, good size and very comfortable. Bathroom was good for a river ship.
Same old problem with doonas, it was 27C and we longed for a cotton blanket. The staff were able to provide a small heavy blanket which was at least a little better.
