We selected this cruise based on the itinerary and the fact that there were only two sea days. We also didn't want to dress up for dinner if we didn't feel like it or have to eat at a set time. As first time cruisers I avidly read these reviews in the months prior. I was concerned with some of the negative reviews about the age of the ship and the food. Well in our opinion neither of these things were an issue. The range of food is immense and was of a good quality. There must be some super picky people out there if you couldn't find something you liked. The ship is well maintained and clean. We had a balcony cabin which came with a drinks package and we had lots of fun working our way through the cocktail list. We mainly ate in Raffles but also tried Windows, Garden and Shogun which were all also very good. On leaving a port our favourite place to sit was aft on the Raffles terrace with a cocktail in hand..bliss. Galaxy of the Stars was also a very nice place to sit and relax. We went to several shows and thought the standard was very good. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We didn't do any of the ship's excursions as we organised our own prior to leaving home. Our cabin was roomier than we expected with a place for everything and a super comfy big bed. We would definitely sail on the Spirit again and have now been converted to cruising!

Mid-Ship Balcony

Cabin BB

Pleasantly surprised at the size. Plenty of room in the wardrobe with shelving. Bathroom was good. The bed was very comfortable and large. Watching St Marks square from the balcony as we sailed into Venice is something I'll never forget.
