We flew into New Orleans Sunday. We took a taxi and boarded the ship at 2:45 pm. The set rate for the taxi is $33 for two from the airport to downtown where the pier is. There were no lines for embarkation and all went well. The weather on this cruise was excellent. Be advised to bring a jacket and sweater on January Caribbean cruises and maybe an umbrella too. This is not a new ship. A lot of the windows in the area of the buffet are double pane that have lost the seal between the panes allowing moisture to cloud them. We chose not to eat in the specialty restaurants. The food and service in the main restaurants was very good but not exceptional. The entertainment in the showroom was pretty typical cruise fare. We liked the acrobat and his partner. They are part of a grand finale show with magic the last cruise night that should not be missed. We entertained ourselves in the casino and I saw one lady get a $20,000 payout with a royal flush!! Disembarkation was very easy. Those of us carrying all our own luggage got to get off the ship first. No tags, no hassle, a quick $33 taxi ride and we were at our gate at the airport by 8:30 am. In the end, the super weather made this a superior cruise.
