We were very pleased with our cruise to Alaska on the Norwegian Pearl. This is definitely a cruise everyone should take. The scenery is breathtaking in places. We used Republic Parking at Pier 66 in Seattle which was very convenient and was nice to be in a covered garage. We just walked over the sky bridge which was close to the ship. We arrived earlier than our embarkation time that we signed up for but it didn't seem to matter. We were shuffled off to several different waiting areas but since we were a latitude member we got through one line quicker. We stayed on Deck 5 with a picture window and were very happy with our room. There was some noise overhead that sounded like squeaky floors at times but decided it was just the ship creaking. We had a restaurant overhead so did not get much noise during the night. One of our favorite places on the ship was The Great Outdoors for breakfast. Being at the back of the ship there was very little breeze and if you got there early it wasn't too crowded. The Garden Buffet area was always crowded. We also loved the Spinnaker Lounge. It was the perfect place to sit when cruising through Glacier Bay but you had to get there early to get a seat. The lounge also had a lot of entertainment going on there but was always so crowded. It really needed to be a lot bigger but was very comfortable. We had read reviews commenting on the food as being so so but we felt the buffet was well stocked with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and a nice variety. We also felt the complementary restaurants had great food and lots of variety. We especially enjoyed the Moderno restaurant and Teppanyaki. They were part of our Free at Sea options but were well worth it. We also received 250 minutes of free wifi. We mainly used it to check our email and Facebook account. Most of the trip you are without cell service so it was hard getting used to not being able to text to find each other on the ship. You learn to make sure you have a meeting place and time to find each other as it is a big ship. The cruise director Vincent is so hilarious and does a great job. We booked our excursions through Alaska Shore Tours which saved us over $50 per person per excursion. We went on the train ride at Skagway to the Yukon and saw some beautiful scenery. We also booked the whale watch and glacier excursion which were both great adventures. We had booked a kayak excursion at Ketchikan but it was too windy that morning so received a full refund. We were so lucky as we only had one evening that it rained.

It was nice being mid ship as you don't feel the movement as much. The elevator was fairly close. We had some noise overhead which sounded like squeaky floors but wasn't that bad and didn't notice it much after awhile. We didn't spend much time in our room but it was pretty comfortable and we had plenty of storage for all our things. It would be nice if there were plugins closer to the bed. Our friend had to use an extension cord for his cpap machine.
