We chose this cruise based on the fact we had time on land as my oldest daughter gets motion sickness often and this was my families first cruise. (I cruised on this ship in 2015.) It turned out to be an amazing cruise and lots of fun for everyone. Embarkation and disembarkation went smoothly and so did going through customs in Key West. Going through customs in Key west was simply done on the ship and only took minutes. Dining was wonderful. We have 4 celiac and 2 of us have an intolerance to dairy and the food was still amazing. Both the main dining room and buffet were wonderful. We were stuck with a dining time of 8:30 because of the large group we had (13 total) but the night we needed to eat earlier we just went to the windjammer. The buffet was great. At breakfast and lunch there was a separate gluten free corner completely separate from the main buffet line so I didn't have to worry about cross contamination. There were tables close by but we took our food into the main dining area to eat with our group. At dinner time this area was closed but a chef took us around the buffet and told us what was safe and if we wanted something he cooked it for us matching our dietary needs. The gluten free corner had at least 3 entrees and several sides and even dessert on it. We got to taste a different flavor of cheesecake every day. My kids loved having a place to go and know they were safe to eat. We had a rainy trip but on the last day the skies cleared and everyone was able to climb the rock wall and bounce on the trampoline. The kids loved the teen and kid adventure zone so much we barely saw them this trip. As for us grown ups, the entertainment in the centrum was fun every night. The kids would pop in and say hi and even remarked how fun it was. Ports of call were fun. Since several of us had cruised before I found a tour of Nassau that hit the highlights and had tastings. At Coco Cay we rented a bungalow and it was well worth the expense. Kids played on the inflatable playground for the hour and then moved onto volleyball and such. No one ever said they were bored. Key West was HOT! We got off the ship for a couple of hours, saw some highlights then headed back to enjoy what the ship had to offer since the day was clear. We are frequent visitors to Key West so we didn't feel the pull to stay to see more. All in all it was an amazing trip for everyone. Kids and adults all said the trip went by way too fast and we are looking forward to our next adventure.

Cabin Review

Spacious Ocean View Balcony
Cabin 1B 7028
Our cabin was very clean and definitely big enough for my daughters and myself. Even with all three of us getting ready for dinner at the same time. The balcony was a nice escape and fun to sit on in the mornings while pulling into port. We were forward and it was a perfect location because we were close to the buffet and kid activity area.

Port & Shore Excursion Reviews

  • Key West
We love Key West and travel there at least once a year. Therefore we didn't find it necessary to book a tour or excursion. Understand this time of year is HOT! We spent a few hours off the ship hitting our favorite spots and then everyone was ready to head back in search of water and air conditioning.

  • Nassau
I booked this for the group independently because of the timeline and price. This tour was only 2 1/2 hours and took us to all the major stops in Nassau. The tour guide was great with his narrative as well as the transportation. They fill the bus to capacity (even the folding seats in the middle). This tour took us to the Rum Cake Factory, Atlantis, the Queen's staircase, Greycliff Chocolate factory, and the rum distillery. They picked up and dropped off just outside the port. It was very convenient and gave us lots of time to hit other places in the city but gave us a nice history lesson.

  • Perfect Day at CocoCay
This was an excellent place for us to get away from it all. They delivered lunch to us and there was always someone walking by to take a drink order. If you have the adult drink package it is included as this is all an extension of the cruise ship. This time of year however, the water was at low tide most of the day. We had to walk the length of a football field or walk to the main beach to swim. They do have trams to take you out there as these are on the quiet side of the island.

  • Aqua Park
Kids had a great time out there. We booked the Aqua Park/Waterslide combo. For my 10 yr old it was great as they can only spend an hour in the Aqua Park but he spent the rest of the day going down the huge water slide. The teens went looking for other activities like volleyball and other games they offered.
