Navigator of the Seas Cruise Review by JustJess_007
- Sail Date: June 2018
- Destination: Baltic Sea
We did only shore excursions through RCI some of which were better than others, times in some of the ports felt very short and lead to feeling rushed on some of the excursions. Really heavy traffic in some of the ports of call also lead to some discomfort and resulted in delays. Cruising is becoming increasingly popular and it seems that the smaller ports of call cannot accommodate and handle the amount of ships and guests flooding their shores.
These were minor issues and I believe ultimately it's what you make of every situation. If you go with an open mind and a bit of patience your vacation experience could be just as great.
The variety of entertainment was also very good. Some of the shows were a bit load and some events resulted in the promenade getting flooded with too many guests. If you don't mind to stay clear of over crowded areas while activities are happening then you should be in good shape.

City TourFelt a bit rushed and our tour guide was doing her best to keep the group together but it was a bit messy at times. The tour itself was lovely and we got to see a lot of Copenhagen. Even had some time to walk back and explore a tiny bit on our own before getting the shuttle bus back to the ship. (Too far to walk back to the ship)View All 171 City Tour Reviews
Winter WonderlandThis was my most disappointing excursion out of the bunch we took. I felt very rushed and did not feel like we had enough time to really see Helsinki this was also the only time we did not have any free time to see some of the sights on our own. The Ice Bar was a highlight but with the traffic and travel time it does not leave you with much time to see the rest of the beautiful city and sights they have.View All 20 Winter Wonderland Reviews
City TourGreat tour felt a little rushed but all in all we still had a bit of time to walk down town and explore on our own which was nice. Very nice place we docked as you can walk downtown and enjoy some of the local restaurants etc.View All 33 City Tour Reviews

SkagenAnother of my favorites. The tour guide we had was fantastic he had so much knowledge and was do informative and relaxed with his guiding. We did not feel rushed at all and got to see so much of Skagen. We even had about 3 hours of free time to explore on our own which is always nice to do. Great experience!View All 69 Skagen Cruise Port Reviews

SouthamptonWe did our own thing in Southampton. There is a mall within walking distance so if you forgot anything for your cruise you can always pop on over (like we did) and also lots of resturants if you just want to take it easy before embarking your ship.View All 969 Southampton Cruise Port Reviews

Peter & Paul FortressA good tour to start off when visiting Russia for the first time. There is so much to do and see that it's very overwhelming. Knowing what I do now after going for the first time is to try and do the Hermitage as well as the Peterhof Palace (this is about an hours drive from where you are docked so plan accordingly.) Another option I'd look at next time is to rather hire a car versus trying to fit in as many tours as possible (which adds up) There is also a hop on hop off bus if you have the right visa or don't need a visa. We did this on our second day and it was amazing. *Our tour guide was great very informative and had amazing knowledge and we did see a lot on this tour other than the Fortress.View All 106 Peter & Paul Fortress Reviews
Russian Folk DanceA must see if you enjoy the theater. It's always nice to see traditional dance and song native to one's country. This was a lovely experience and we got to see much of the beautiful city while we drove to our venue.View All 41 Russian Folk Dance Reviews
City TourThis was one of my favorites stops. We did not feel rushed at all and had a good time doing our walking tour, getting all the information of both the old and the new towns whilst walking with our guide. The only issue was the very bad traffic we experienced when we came out of the terminal. Probably sat for close to an hour in traffic which affected our tour time slightly. The guide was very good in making some of the time up though. One of the best ports, truly beautiful and well worth seeing.View All 83 City Tour Reviews
