We wanted to visit London and Norway. London was wonderful. There was easy access to the underground. We had booked our transportation to the port through NCL. All we had to do is get back to the airport and off we went. Embarkation was SUPERB. Once we were at the port we were on the ship in less than 15 minutes. Incredible! The show on the ship, Elements, was Awesome. The food was very good. Our cabin was wonderful. Sigh.

As far as the ports, the highlight of the cruise were the views of the fjords. The ports were small and, if you didn't have a tour planned, there was not tons of atmosphere. We sort of expected to see more local color. Many of the shop clerks were from other countries and did not even speak Norwegian.

On the ship, they have eliminated drinking straws. Surprisingly, this did make a difference when drinking sodas, etc. Now we will have to pack our own straws.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MA

Our cabin was almost perfect. One thing we did not like was the tub instead of a shower. It was not easy to get in and out. Our balcony was the roomiest we have ever had. Our steward provided excellent service and we felt quite pampered.

Port Reviews

Lerwick (Shetland Islands)

What a lovely place. We booked a private tour and saw lots of the countryside dotted with sheep. We stopped at a couple of places to get up close to the Shetland ponies. It was a very good day.
