My sister-in-law asked us to go on the cruise with her. I was a bit leery because of the price but they convinced me that any other vacation for 7 days would cost the same. This cruise was amazing. The boat was spectacular. It was large and there were so many activities. There were over 6,000 on the boat but the only time it felt like a lot of people was when we were getting on the boat. The process went smoothly, it was just a lot of people.
My cabin was starboard aft, right in the front of the ship. We loved it. It was as large as some of the hotel rooms we have stayed in (except the shower I guess, be prepared for a small round shower.) The stateroom attendant was fabulous. The room was clean, bed made, etc. Somehow he knew when we wouldn't be there because he never knocked or came in when we were getting ready or sleeping.
The main dining room was fabulous. The service in the main dining room was out of this world! Our waiters were amazing. I actually cried when we left the dining room for the last time, I wanted to stay friends with them. We had a few dishes (maybe 2) that weren't great. Part of this was personal preference but honestly I can't even remember what ones we didn't think were fabulous so they couldn't have been too bad.
I am not sure if I chose the correct category. The room was in the front of the boat with a large window, no balcony. It was a great size, I expected smaller. The front of the room had lots of space because of the angle of the ship. You couldn't really sit there because of the steep angle but it made the room seem lots bigger than others on the boat and it was great to have a view of where we were going, docking, etc.
We chose to walk around the city. I really wish I had done an excursion with a tour of the historical sites. It was super hot and humid and a cool tour bus would have been great for a break from the heat. Watch out for all of the "tours" they try to sell you just as you get off the ship. The people were very pushy, it was annoying.
