As a seasoned cruiser on RCL, Celebrity and DCL (11 cruises over the past decade) I was a looking forward to our Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Celebrity Equinox with a great deal of excitement and heightened anticipation. Unfortunately, not only were my expectations not met but my desire to return to Celebrity have been extinguished completely.
There has been a marked decline in service and customer service that was palpable throughout the entire voyage, particularly from the dining waitstaff, room service personnel and bar tenders. Below is a detailed account of our cruise with highlights of both great and poor service.
Please note that this review was written from the perspective of a group of ten (four connecting veranda cabins) composed of four adults and six young children between the ages of 6 and 5.
Our cabin was dated (as is the entire ship) however it was functional and always kept clean. Two electrical outlets are available at the desk, however given the prevalence of technology in our lives (we all travel with mobile phones, tablets, iWatches, etc...) it would be good to have outlets next to the bed.
Porters demand tips (even when providing sub-par service). Not a good experience.
