Been on several cruises with Carnival and I think overall they were more friendly and with better overall service and food offerings. Pluses were quick check in, good shows and good entertainment staff. Minuses were more dorm like food in buffets, not very friendly staff (especially security) slow elevators and just plain crowded. In general it seemed that the cruise was more geared to moving people for profit and that the crowds reflected that. Only ate one meal in anytime dining and after that used buffets. Only good overall meals were two dinners we ate in the specialty area. Took one shore excursion, a hiking trip to Mendenall Glacier and that was excellent but a little strenuous. Overall found the cruise excellent in viewing Alaska but the overall quality of the cruise was just a little lacking. Was pleased and surprised how the ship entered Tracy Arm Fijord for a view of both the north and south glaciers.
Don’t know what the categories mean but had interior cabin with two twin beds. It was a little small but adequate. Room steward was excellent.
