We picked this cruise because it left from Southampton (no flying) and visited countries we had not seen before at the right time of year.
The drive to Southampton was smooth and we arrived at 12.15, with a couple of hours to spare, the port parking were very organised and efficient. We expected to sit in the departure lounge but were processed straight away and on the ship in the buffet by 12.30, cabins were ready by 12.45.
Our cabin was a standard inside, C deck forward, adequate but clean and tidy, very quiet at night and a fantastic cabin steward. Arcadia is an adult only ship, with few people on board under retirement age and a lot with poor mobility.
Cabin was adequate, a large double bed with bedside tables, double wardrobe and a single shelved wardrobe with safe, table and chair, dressing table with kettle and TV on. The bathroom has a powerful hot shower which was lovely. There was no noise at night, the odd passenger slamming their door but that could happen anywhere. Aircon was a bit noisy but kept the room comfortable. The cabin was kept clean and tidy all the time by the friendly cabin steward.
Used the HOHO bus
Walked into Las Ramblas and up to the square at the top, then went to the restaurant in "Las Corte Ingles" on the 9th floor overlooking the rooftops of Barcelona, a great panoramic view
We walked the F1 track ourselves, easy to do because the railings were still there from the race a week earlier
We walked the town on our own and visited the museum and Roman amphitheater.
