This was our 15th carnival cruise and the second ship of this class. We have sailed on the Dream 5 times.
This is a nicely laid out ship. Not alot of choices of specialty restaurants. The only specialties are the steakhouse which we ate at 3 times. We paid for one and the Casino covered our dinner twice. We ate lunch at cucina Del Capitano. I really like it but my wife not so much. The only problem there was you could not sit in the restaurant to eat it was like a refrigerator inside the restaurant.
For the size of the ship breakfast was a problem. There were always lines. A minimum of 20 minutes in line each morning. Going to the MDR was much better. Overall the food quality was good. The desert cakes were amazing.
We were in an ocean view cabin 2493. This was a nice size room. At night at times the room vibrated from the engines and when in port. You might as well get up because you can not sleep with the thruster going off turn the ship or the line being tightened up at ports.
Coming down the hall was an unusual musky smell. My wife bought air freshener for the room! Our room Stewart Hermegenes was great, always had a smile and spoke with us.
We went to 2 museums, a rum factory, a fort and had lunch. Was ok, but boring at times in the museum listening to the tour guide. Got to have 8 shots of different rum at the rum factory. Lunch was a buffet style and was good. Had to pay if you wanted a beer.
Walked around town.
Walk around old San juan
Went to the Margarita pool for about 2 hours and back on board
