This was our first experience cruising, and it was not great. We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. I was expecting much more from the staff and facilities than we received. We felt like we were an inconvenience for the staff except for the room steward who was great (Rudi). Everyone talks about how great the food is on cruises...what cruise line are they talking about? The food was subpar every day. I can say they made great scrambled eggs, bangers and had wonderful bread. The rest reminded me of high school cafeteria food. The only thing really good I ate while onboard was a crab souffle and their Caesar Salad. When we bought the cruise it said there was a sale and we would get the beverage package for free. It was not true, A month before we sailed I called NCL to ask about this and was told I was mistaken about the package but it really didn't matter since we were on the STAR because wine was included with dinner so I let it go. When on board and I saw it was not true I went to Guest Services and the lady said she would check into it and I would have an answer one way or the other as to the problem. I was NEVER contacted again...so much for customer service onboard. We had to pay $23 for 2 glass of wine plus tip with every dinner. We had a balcony room and it was really nice and comfortable with a great bathroom plenty of space. "Broadway Style Shows"???? Really? There was a cellist and violinist who were always off key...had to leave the room when they played. There was a 3 piece "band" with as much emotion as the country bear jamboree and bad singing. The comedian was not funny. The Italian singer was AMAZING and the ship troupe did a great final night show. We bought the excursions from NCL for Olympia and Athens and they were both FANTASTIC. They did a great job getting us on and off the boat and the tour guides were both every good. Kotor is probably the most beautiful place I have ever been. All the ports were very enjoyable, and food on shore was unbelievably good, with very friendly natives eager to please.

I would go again but I don't think I would use NCL again. Cruising is a great way to see 4 countries in 1 visit, because of that I will seek other cruises (and cruise lines).
