The cruise was chosen by us due to the Panama Canal transit, which was a a highlight—from daylight to dark that particular day we had fascinating views from our balcony, and were blessed with blue skies. Since we live in the tropics in Australia, the scenery in the five countries visited, six shore excursions, contained no surprises in regard to landscape, weather and crops, but the third-world life-style certainly was different. So the trip was educational. The mighty ship itself, with its well-trained and happy crew, catered for various age groups. On our anniversary, at the Italian restaurant, we were surprised with cake and candles and a song, which brought me to tears. We had made no particular arrangements for this. Very touching to have young people from Indonesia and the Philippines wishing us well... a most worthwhile trip to recall for many years... One low-light was queueing for an extended period for Box Office reservations for Jersey Boys (promoted heavily) before the ship even left Miami. We actually saw the show two weeks later, so why the rush before we were even at sea. Not a good beginning, but it improved...lots...
