This was our very first cruise - and we were never that interested in cruising, but friends who have cruised Alaska said it was a "must do". They were correct! We did the 3 day land portion through McKinley/Denali, then took the fabulous train from Denali to Whittier to board the Island Princess. The views were all so spectacular and breathtaking. We saw much wildlife - moose, bears, caribou, etc. Once onboard - the choices for food and activities were awesome. The 2 days of glacier viewing - speechless! We got close enough to see the "blue" coloring in the crevices and to watch and hear the "calving" of the glaciers - which was thunderous. We were sorry to have to move on! Our stops however in Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan were filled with much history of the state, etc. and some fun excursions that took us even deeper into the real life Alaska, where we saw more bears, bald eagles, whales, seals, etc. Everything ran like clockwork. Princess has it down, as far as organization, promptness and quality of staff. All the service workers we spoke with also had rave reviews for their company and were polite and very helpful. It was a GREAT experience.
Got to hear history of the city , etc. Then stopped in the famous Red Onion for some appetizers and drinks - very good!View All 53 Street Car Tour Reviews

great crew on this boat that took us past a bald eagle preserve where we spotted the nest and several eagles flying about. Then past the totem pole park and the lighthouse. We snacked on fresh salmon dip, crackers, fruit, etc and many stories by the crew and the captain. FUNView All 69 Lighthouses, Totems and Eagles Reviews
