This was our first European Cruise and we stayed in Barcelona the day before. We did some exploring, had some great authentic Tapas and some shopping since our luggage was lost. The airline worked with Royal and we were told to expect our luggage to be on the ship by sail time.

The next morning, we checked out of the hotel by 10:30 and were onboard by 11:15. Embarkation was very busy but went smoothly. We have sailed all of Symphony's sister ships and are familiar with the layout, but Symphony felt new and different for sure.

Our room was amazing!!! I loved the colors and inviting feel. The bed was soft, there were plenty of pillows which is a plus for me. My husband enjoyed the privacy of closing the curtains to watch TV in the bedroom and I could hang out at night in the living area to watch movies while enjoying the tasty bites from room service. (they charge for grand suites)We did have our balcony divider opened since we had adjoining suites and it was easy for my daughter and grandson to visit us without going into the hallway. On nice days we liked spending time out there as a family.

Grand Suite - 1 Bedroom

Cabin GS

Room was beautiful and roomy. The location was great for us being in the middle of the ship top and bottom as well as lengthwise. Nothing was too far away. We were close to Dazzles or Trellis Bar for drinks in the evenings and soda for the grandson. It was also close to Park Cafe for snacks and salads in the afternoon. Chips and cookies were my favorites

Port Reviews

Palma de Mallorca (Majorca)

We did some sight seeing on our own and had some Sangria at a cute little shop

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Very long day. Took free shuttle runs (15-20 minutes) from the ship, then took train 11 euro round trip to ROME. We took the hop on and hop off tour for 18 euro each and were provided ear phones to listen to guide as we rode double decker bus. We stopped to see what we wanted and got back on when we wanted ..very easy

La Spezia (Cinque Terre)

Our family used the complimentary shuttle bus provided by the ship to get to town area. They ran every 15-20 minutes. We toured on our own.

Barcelona

Very friendly people. We stayed at the Ayre Hotel Caspe and it was convenient for shopping, eating and taxi service.
