We chose this cruise primarily because of the itinerary. The size of the ship didn't look overwhelming and the opportunity to enjoy the Aqua Class experience was enticing. We looked forward to enjoying the cabin enhancements, the Persian Garden and the Blu restaurant. Of these three features, only the Blu restaurant was special.
We traveled with friends who enjoyed the overall experience but who also shared some of our frustrations.
Embarkation was well organized and fast. The muster drill was poorly organized and unnecessarily painful. We were crowded in a very small space and standing for more than 1 hour. We were not allowed to leave while the staff repeatedly tried to locate "missing" participants. Then past 1:30 we were all dismissed to a miserably crowded lunch buffet. The pattern of too many people and insufficient seating for the buffet (particularly at lunch time) was repeated multiple times.
The size of the cabin was adequate. It could use an update. Decor was ugly. The bed was comfortable. There were significant maintenance issues that I have detailed.
Loved the scenery and the bathing experience.
Enjoyed the bus tour, the museum and the lovely Shetland ponies.
Had a great educational "whiskey walk" with our friends and one other couple. Lovely town with great people. Learned enough about Irish Whiskey to buy some of the recommended brands at the Duty Free Shop in Dublin.
Fabulous tour of Godafus and the lake and the city. Enjoyed doing this with only the 4 of us and a private guide.
