The year before our family went on MSC Armonia for our first cruise. The ship was full but it didn't feel crowded and the food wasn't fantastic but we enjoyed it, esp the pizzas. The entertainment was good. Overall we enjoyed it. So when we heard about MSC's new and biggest ship we thought it would be very special and much better than the one we went on so we booked it.

We waited for hours to get on board the Meraviglia. It was so disorganised that every 10-15 metres or so a staff would be checking our documents, the same thing that was done 5 times before. We waited for 3-4 hours before getting on board. It was ridiculous.

The room was small and cramp. The beddings were inadequate. The duvet they gave us was thick and hot, so we asked for another but we were told that was all they had so we had to use our beach towels as blanket. Even though the ship was brand new, the mattress were sinking in the middle and it was very uncomfortable to sleep on. The room service was poor and the staff generally tried their best to avoid being called: either in the dining room or to make up the rooms.
